Review- First Hotel Statt

Nick and I stayed at the First Hotel Statt to celebrate my birthday on a Monday evening. They were very accommodating, and the price was reasonable (especially compared to another hotel down the street, which wanted to charge us app. $300 for a standard room on a Monday evening).

The only slight issue we ran into with the hotel was a upon checking in. They had our reservation marked down for the next day, but this was quickly resolved and we were able to check in. The woman helping us at the front desk inquired about if we needed help with parking, or if there was anything additional we needed. Our room was a good sized corner room on the second floor, complete with a bathtub. The hotel had a very classic European feel to it, and was decorated nicely.

Our room was relatively quiet throughout the evening, even with having the window open throughout the night. This may pose an issue on a weekend, as the hotel is situated right above the club, but was not a problem on a Monday. We were able to sleep with the window open until about 7 AM, when the traffic of the city and construction across the street really started up.

Nick and I were most impressed when going to breakfast the next day. Firstly, breakfast was included in the price of your stay. It was a traditional European breakfast, with cheeses, meats, eggs, bacon, meatballs, and several choices of yogurt and granola. On our way to breakfast, we passed a beautiful ballroom and staircase that would be perfect for someone getting married or a large celebration. Both the breakfast area and this ballroom were stunning.

We really enjoyed our stay at First Hotel Statt, and would recommend it to others visiting in Karlskrona. The hotel is centrally located on the main walking street in the city, and within several blocks of many restaurants, the movie theater, and the shopping mall.
